Are you weighed down emotionally and physically, by the things of this world? Perhaps the gravity of a trial you’re going through is pulling you down. Maybe an illness, injury, or old age restricts and limits you physically.
Here’s an exciting truth from the Bible that can give you a lift. One day, Jesus will give His followers a wonderful new glorified body. Gravity has no effect upon a glorified body nor is gravity a concern to a glorified Saint.
On Earth, our mortal bodies strain against gravity. We need gravity though, because our mortal bodies are designed to function with gravity. Similar to resistance training, our bodies work against gravity to stay strong. According to various studies by NASA, gravity tells a body how to act and how much force to exert while lifting something. Without gravity, unused muscles will get small and weak resulting in muscle loss of up to five percent a week–this is why astronauts have to work out in space. Bones also lose mass without gravity, somewhere around one percent a month, with a total possible loss of about fifty percent. Additionally, blood will pool in the upper half of the body if there is no gravity to pull it down.
A glorified body functions perfectly without gravity because it is immortal and has no need of gravity to keep it strong. A glorified body constantly defies gravity and is not restrained by it in movement. As a matter of fact, the first thing we will do in our glorified body is defy gravity. The bible says;
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NIV
Jesus could just meet the Saints at Heaven’s gate during the rapture and we would be none the wiser. But the Bible reveals a much more exciting event. The first time our glorified eyes see Jesus Christ, we will be defying gravity! The greatest reunion in the history of reunions will take place in the air.
What a blessing! We’ll never be weighed down again—physically or emotionally. A glorified body cannot experience pain, stress or fear. Jesus will wipe away every tear and do away with the old order body and all of its restrictions and pains.

Reflection
A glorified body defies much of our current reality and experience. A glorified body does not need to be born of parents, it is born of GOD and Heaven. A glorified body defies death and gravity—two of the most powerful forces we know and experience. This should remind, and point us to GOD. The GOD who is above every force and every problem.
