About

Eyes Up Ministries seeks to passionately point people to Jesus Christ. GOD willing, we will accomplish this through the leading of the Holy Spirit. Specifically, we aim to begin, or renew, a person’s passion for Jesus Christ by teaching them the gospel of Jesus Christ through the lens of eternity. We want people to be excited about Heaven!

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  Colossians 3:1-2 NIV

Eyes Up Ministries is convinced that the joyful truths of Eternity are contagious unto great joy and gratitude. When a Christian has joy and gratitude in hand, they will seek to work out their own salvation. This evidence will overflow into their circle of influence and point others to Jesus Christ, resulting in the building up and the expanding of the kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Eyes Up Ministries does not believe the study of Heaven and Eternity should only be reserved for advanced students of the Bible or mature believers. We believe learning about Heaven and eternity is simple and straightforward. Eyes Up Ministries believes that new Christians should learn about Heaven and eternity immediately after they are saved. We believe children can, and should, learn about Heaven. We believe teen-agers will navigate better with their eyes up. We believe marriages will improve when a couple has an eternal perspective.

Our Spiritual Beliefs

God

We believe that there is one God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-‐equal. Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, I Peter 1:2, II Corinthians 13:14

 Jesus

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, was wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven. He will literally return to Earth again to reign as king of kings and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5; 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, I Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13

Holy Spirit

We believe that God the Holy Spirit is active in convincing unbelievers of their need for salvation, and is the Comforter and Guide Who lives in every believer. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under his control daily. 2 Corinthians 3:17, John 16:7-13; 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, I Corinthians 2:12; 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 5:18

 The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, the sole authority for life and faith. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 1:13, Psalm 119:105,160, Psalm 12:6, Proverbs 30:5, Romans 16:25-26

Man

We believe that man is a special creation of God, made in His image, but that through the sin of the first man, Adam, mankind fell so that all men are sinners and need salvation. Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-‐6, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23, Colossians 1:21, Isaiah 59:1-2

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Humanity can never make up for their sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal union and spiritual life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith. Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6; 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1

Assurance

We believe that every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security. John 10:29, II Timothy 1:12, Hebrews 7:25; 10:10-14, I Peter 1:3-5

Eternity

We believe that those persons who die in their sins without Christ spend eternity in Hell and those persons who die with their sins forgiven through Christ spend eternity in Heaven. John 3:16, I John 2:25; 5:11-13, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15

Baptism

We believe that water baptism is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and is by immersion after salvation. We believe that baptism is an outward act symbolizing the inward, repented condition of the heart. Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6

Church

We believe that the church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head. Colossians 1:18, Colossians 2:10, Ephesians 1:22-23, Matthew 28:18-20Prayer

We believe that each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:13, 18, Hebrews 10:19-22, Philippians 4:6-7, Matthew 6:6

Government

We believe in the separation of church and state, but not in separation of God and government. Christians are salt and light in society. 1 Peter 2:15-17, Romans 13:1, Colossians 3:23-24, 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Marriage

God created marriage (Gen. 2:22).  It is a covenant made between one natural born man and one natural born woman that makes them one (Gen 2:24).  The marriage covenant requires the married parties to be faithful, loving, and helpful to each other as long as they both shall live. Matthew 5:32; 19:5-6,9; Romans 7:2-3; I Corinthians 7:10-11, 15; II Corinthians 6:14; Ephesians 5:22-23).

This ministry believes a wedding ceremony as holy and unto God.  It is a religious ceremony and cannot be conducted without pastoral consideration.

The Gifts of the Holy Sprit

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and are used to glorify God and serve others. They are not used to elevate oneself or draw attention to oneself. Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10
